Privacy Policy

Effective 2 September 2026

SnapFrom is a blog. This page describes every category of personal data the site handles, the third parties that process it on our behalf, and how long each is kept. It is written to be specific rather than exhaustive-sounding: if something is not listed here, the site does not do it.

What the site collects

When you read a page

Every page loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-M0LV4506MP). It records the page you viewed, the site or search that referred you, a coarse location derived from your IP address by Google and not retained by us, and your device type, browser and operating system. On article pages it also records the article’s intent label (informational, how-to, commercial or comparison) as an event parameter. It does not record your name, email address, or anything you type.

Google Analytics sets a first-party cookie (_ga and a _ga_… pair) that holds a random identifier so repeat visits from the same browser can be counted as one visitor. We do not enable Google Signals, Google Ads linking, or any cross-site advertising feature on this property.

When you subscribe to the newsletter

The signup form takes an email address and nothing else. Submitting it causes a confirmation email to be sent and stores nothing. Your address is only recorded if you click the link in that email. At that point it is added to a single mailing list (“SnapFrom blog”) held at our email provider. We keep it until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the link at the foot of every newsletter email or by writing to the address below. Unsubscribing removes you from this list only.

When you email us

Mail sent to contact@snapfrom.net is forwarded to a private mailbox. We keep the correspondence for as long as it is useful to have a record of it, and delete it when it is not.

Who processes it

  • Google LLC — Google Analytics. Aggregate usage statistics. See Google’s privacy policy.
  • Resend — sends the newsletter and stores the subscriber list. See Resend’s privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts the site and routes @snapfrom.net email. Processes connection metadata (IP address, user agent, request details) to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Google and Resend are based in the United States, so subscribing or being measured by Analytics involves a transfer of data there.

How long it is kept

  • Analytics: Google retains event-level data for 14 months, after which it is aggregated or deleted.
  • Newsletter address: until you unsubscribe.
  • Email to us: until the matter it concerns is closed.

Cookies

The only cookie the site sets is the Google Analytics one described above. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The site also stores your theme choice (light or dark) in your browser’s local storage; that value never leaves your device and is not a cookie.

The site does not currently show a cookie consent banner. You can block the analytics cookie with your browser settings or an extension without affecting anything else on the site.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its processing. For the newsletter that is straightforward: the only thing we hold is your email address, and unsubscribing deletes it. For anything else, write to the address below and we will act on it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who processes it, the “Effective” date above changes with it.
